low voltage back at fuel pump.
I have tested voltage at the alternator which puts out a nice 13.5volts, when my 10gauge wire reachs the relay, its down to 12.5 volts, leaving the relay (which is brand new) its already down to 10volts and then by the time the wire makes it to the fuel pump, I am only registering 8volts. The car runs fine, but I know this is not a normal situation, Anyone have any ideas into what I could try? Thanks.

Re: low voltage back at fuel pump.
Could be cheap wire with a low copper content. Copper is expensive.
Try doubling up on the wire. Run two wires for + and two for ground.
Measure the resistance of the whole spool of wire with a volt ohmmeter.
I wouldn't think that length of 10 guage wire would have that much voltage drop.
Having that much voltage drop just thru the relay kind of defeats the purpose of using a relay to switch the pump.
8 volts at the pump as opposed to 13.5 V is going to cut into the pumps flow capacity @ the working pressure by a significant amount. May be if you're stuck with 8v @ the pump, you should flow test the whole fuel system to verify if it can flow the amount of fuel you need at the working pressure. using 8volts.
