Stripped distributor bolt

I am in the middle of replacing the whole intake track (Big Mouth manifold, SLP Runners and plenum both ported by Corvetteplenum.com) My problem is I can't get the distributor hold down bolt out. I have the correct tool but it keeps slipping on the head. Anyone have any sugestions? Also could I take the head of the bolt off with an air chisel? Any suggetion, or feedback would be appreciated.
