Fuel cell to rear end clearance....

Im concerned about the height and the rear hitting it on hard launches and bumps. I dont want to put it in the trunk space. Im looking at summit's 25x17x9 16 gal. Looks like it would leave about 4 inches from the top of the rear. Is this enough? I dont have soft springs, Im putting some moog's in that are stiffer than factory.

Re: Fuel cell to rear end clearance....

I picked up a cell second hand but it came from nastyperformance, they are not cheap but fit in the stock location, and have a sump w/-10 outlets...also accomodate the stock pump/sender.

Ed quay race cars also sells a fuel cell for street 82-92 camaro`s

Re: Fuel cell to rear end clearance....

I think im giving up on the fuel cell, i need to get this damn thing on the road. Just going to hack out the old lines and weld in bigger ones. that way I can fill it from outside the vehicle. And its free. No mounting hassles.

Re: Fuel cell to rear end clearance....

Did you have to make any changes to use the Nasty Performance tank? They only list that tank for the 4th gen cars, but I wouldn't expect it to be much different since the 4th gen has the same rear suspension system.

Does the tank accept a factory-style neck or is it intended to be filled from the top (through the car) like most fuel cells?

Nasty is a good word for their company, that price tag IS rather nasty.
