Fuel Starvation

OK a Little back story,

My 88 GTA HAD a 305 in it , and it decided to drop 2 Cly. So I opted to upgrade to a GM crate 350.
And with that I added ....
Ford Racing 24# Injectors
Under Drive Pullies
Smog Delete Pullie
Headers
Cold Air Induction
TB Coolant Bypass
TB Air Foil
EGR Delete
Cold Start Delete
A.I.R. Delete
Custom Chip from TPI parts.net

Now, the problem, is this ( it did run befoe the moter swap,, crappy but did run )

Now it is all in and happy my Mech Is informing me he is getting 28lbs at the scrader Valve and the moter wont stay running long enuff to tune it.

He is wanting me to Pull the fuel tank and replace the Fuel pump and sending unit ( mega $$ )

I said Woo wait a min ... I asked him to Change the Fuel filter and blow out the fuel lines, and check the FPR ( which I tagged one on ebay incase I need it )

He hasnt gotten back to me yet..

any other ideas? do fuel pumps go down hill or just .. die!

Need help I want my car back!

Re: Fuel Starvation

fuel pumps can do both... sometimes they go down slowly... sometimes they just die... it depends on why they are failing...

just because he was only getting 28 PSI at the valve isnt a reason to jump right into a Fuelpump R&R... there are a few other things to check.... like voltage to pump... the FPR, fuel injectors

Re: Fuel Starvation

Definitely change the filter before you go forward with replacing the pump. The filters are cheap and available, and you can do it yourself.
