PCV Grommet

What experience have you guys had with removing your rock solid old pcv grommets? I'm afraid to replace mine because I don't want them to crack and fall apart inside my valve covers. Any suggestions?

Re: PCV Grommet

A little down inside the valvecovers probably wouldnt hurt. Its happened to me. Of course someone will say "It could clog this....." and that leads to a description of catastrophic internal combustion engine failure. If it really worries you, splurge on a 12 dollar set of rubber valve cover gaskets and take them off first.
