Re: 84 z28 mech and elec fuel pump??

They typically came with mech only; but there was a recall (or a "campaign", actually, IIRC) that if the customer complained about certain vapor lock issues, an electrical one was to be installed. Not a whole lot of them got that though. I don't know that I've ever seen one, though I know they exist.

Not hard to tell. Just get up under the back of it and look at the wires going to the tank.

I worked at the dealership in '84 and we did a lot of them-it was very common. IIRC it was not just on LG4's but any Z28.

Does it have a high PSI electric pump? like an FI car? or is it a carb specific pump? And where is the fuel filter on the 84 l69 z28?

Go to www.partsamerica.com, select the vehicle as 1984 Camaro Z28 VIN code G. Then click on "Fuel Pump". You'll see mechanical and electric pumps listed.

Now, while that page is up, change the vehicle to, say, 1989 Camaro IROC VIN Code F. No mechanical, the electric pump p/n's will be different than what came up for the '84.
