0 psi on Fuel gauge, but the car runs

I installed an afpr after doing a tbi to carb swap. the carb was overflowing with fuel so i set the afpr all the way out, and now it will somewhat idle. I hooked up a fuel gauge on one of the out ports of the fpr but it reads 0 psi even when the car is running

am i using the wrong port, or is the gauge just no good.?

I'd guess it just doesn't read that low. Try it on something else (like a low tire).

Re: 0 psi on Fuel gauge, but the car runs

i said its reading 0, thats low enough i think

its a mr gasket fuel gauge, reads from 0-15psi

the gauge is good i tried it on something else, but why would it not read anything hooked to the fpr?

i got a new carb im going to put on but i want to make sure its safe to put on, and not getting too much pressure. but i cant do that when the gauge isnt working... am i safe to hook it up as long as the regulator is installed? its backed all of the way out

are you reading pressure *after* the FPR?

its a mallory 4309 4-port afpr. i just screwed the gauge into one of the ports, should i plug it back up and run the gauge inline at the carb?

You need to somehow read pressure before the FPR. after the regulator is just return pressure, which is theoretically zero.

but its a tbi fuel pump, would it not be 20psi before the regulator? i need to get it down to 4-5 to run a carb....

should i not run it on the line feeding the carb instead?? or is the fuel before the fpr adjusted somehow???
