Why doesn't there seem to be any packaged deals for our cars? I went to Summit today and was browsing the head combos for 5.0 stangs and there are a bunch of "kits" cam,head and intake and then they list the power each one makes. Why not for chevys or our cars specifically?

 

Try looking again. There are more parts and packages for the small block chevy than for any other engine.

Manufacturer-claimed HP ratings are largely meaningless and need to be taken with an enormous grain of salt. What you actually get out of a package will vary wildly from the advertising copy by the time you get it actually installed in a real vehicle that has creature comforts like functional accessories and exhaust systems.

 

guess its easier to staste ratings when all the 5.0's are basically the same where in contrast there are soooo many different variations on the sbc
