cts code 15 experts

Searched for code 15 help and tried these.

New coolant temp sensor

Checked ohms on both old and new and are within range

At the wire connector I get 5 volts jumping the two pins

Same if ground to block

throws code right away

reset code and car barely starts, very rich

jump connector and I get a 14 and a 15 code says bad connector


What am i missing here ?

At one time, the CTS had a failure mode that would allow coolant to wick up the wiring harness, to the ECM, and cause the contacts to corrode, hence, no signal (on the ground) and the ECM gets pissy, giving the "permanent" code..... check the connector at the ecm, don't remember which one it was.... and see if that is the case. If nothing else, once you find out which wires are the ones you want, test for continuity, and see what ya get.
