cranks but no start

I am working on a freinds 89 tbi 305 camaro. The problem started when he bottomed out the car. It ran all the way to the house and started the next day but didnt make it back and has been dead every since. Coil is getting power but not sparking to the distributor, and the feul injectors r not getting any power. We have checked the fuses and the fusable links, stole the computer out of the parts car, checked feulpump, changed coils and cap. Any thoughts on what could b the problem?

Re: cranks but no start

Need to find out why there is no power to the injectors. I think there are three fuses involved here, two for the ECM, and one for the injectors??

I'd guess ignition module since you won't get spark or injector pulses if it's bad.

Re: cranks but no start

checked the fuses and all was good but that still dosn't tell me why the coil would b fireing. When the cap and rotor r removed what is the round mass unde the otor with 2 wirs coming out of it?
----------
Would the ignition module b under the dash and how ,if i can, test it?

Ignition module is one of the parts under the cap. Black thing, that the two wires from the "big round mass" plug into. You can take it off, and any auto parts store should be able to test it for you.

Do you actually have 12volts at the injector harness?

Re: cranks but no start

Thanks for the help. I think i fogured it out. The big mass i was talking about holds the pre coil, and that sends a signal to the coil to tell it when to fire, and to the computer to tell it when to fire the injectors. I have power to the coil and the injectors, so if i replace the pre coil and the ignition module that should fix the problem right?
