LT1 head questions

Hey guys, I just have a few questions on changing LT1 heads over to a Gen 1 that aren't really covered anywhere that I found.

1) What style carb intake is needed - Vortec or standard SBC style? I can't seem to get a straight answer from anyone on this.

2) Its just the two spots on the ends of the deck surface of the head that must be welded up, correct?

3) The coolant port on the intake face of the head can be cut out with a die grinder to work with the traditional Gen 1 cooling system, correct?

Re: LT1 head questions

It appears lots of you guys swapping LT1 intakes onto TPI cars are using the original L98, etc heads - so I would imagine that means the intake port location on the LT1 heads is the same as a traditional small block? Intake bolt pattern too?
