Re: mild cam?
You should have a roller setup, so concentrate on roller cams.
One that is known to work well in TBI motors, is any of the better LT1 cams; from a Corvette or F-body, NOT from a Caprice or Roadmaster.
Another good one would be the Comp "500" grind. http://store.summitracing.com/partde...2D08%2D500%2D8

Re: mild cam?
I am running the comp 08-500-8 stated above in my 305TPI. The car seems to run great and has gobs of low end torque. I have only taken the car up to about 3500K because of fresh motor. Don't know how it would work at higher engine speeds. Don't know if I would need to upgrade the fuel pressure regulator to an adjustable one and feed the engine some more fuel. But as it is, the car runs well and the guy at comp cams that I spoke to he said that that cam works well in both TPI and TBI motors.

Re: mild cam?
sacuia, that's not a flat tappet cam, so you don't need to break in the cam. If it's got new rings you want to break those in. The only way to do that is to FORCE them to seat against the cylinder walls, or else you'll be forever plagued with blowby and oil usage and a weak motor. Find a nice long steep hill and get it going in about 3rd gear with about 65% throttle and about 3500RPM and hold it! Just load the engine hard! Engine braking is also good to seat the rings. But the best thing you can do is drive the ***** off of it.
