starter wiring - what colors?
on an 89 TPI, stock, what color wires ran to the starter?
I am far from stock but having trouble getting the correct wires to/from the starter for interior accessory power and which wire lead from my ignition, runs to the starter to trigger it under key-on?

I see the purple as I thought, But, I have two purple wires to work with, one bigger gauge then the other, I'm going to assume the thicker purple is the starter engage wire.

well one of the purple wires is from your gear selector switch and it goes to the "s" terminal.
the other terminal that the battery cable goes to also will take all the wires with fusible links.
You can check the wiring diagrams on austinthirdgen.org they have some very good ones.

Re: start wiring - what colors?
I still can't get this thing done. I have both red wires from the main battery cable terminal supplying power to everything inside the car, I tested all remaining wires from the c100 connector (drivers side firewall). and none of them provide 12volts under the -start- position of the key. The pink wire however has 12v constantly under start or run. but that wont help me.
----------
would vats have anything to do with it? I removed the stock ecm. would the vats still function properly? I do have the correct keys.

Re: start wiring - what colors?
I would post a witty reply but you are banned. Oh well.
Back on track...
From another thread on my local board I post in, I probed the yellow wire coming from the ignitiion switch, and that does not have power under cranking. Another member says it is still not likely the switch is bad. What else can I check now? I have both red wires coming into the switch with 12volts. verified buy key on position and having all accessories work in the car as intended.
