is all engine from third gen 350 v8 5.7l are the same ?

I bought 350 unknow year or where its coming, from this guy, and I want to buy part for it, like spark plug , wire, dis cap, oil filter, air filter, I just wonder if the 350 5.7l carb come from carmaro, firebird, truck , van, are the same ? and how can I find out what year is this engine is ? thanks

Find the casting number on the block post it on here and someone will tell you what motor it is, although it's a bit difficult to tell exactly what car it came from. Try to get the castings on the heads too, take the valve covers off, and get a rag, wip them out and look for the castings, they'll be in there somewhere. With head castings and block castings you'll have a better shot at knowing what family at came from.

That should have most of the block and head casting codes. The block casting number is on the driver's side behind the head. Fot the heads you have to pull off the valve covers.
