will my 87 TPI stuff work with vortec heads

Since I cant find out why my freshly rebuilt engine doesnt work I guess I got to pull it and buy a crate engine. All the crate engines I see that make any sort of power all have these vortec heads. Will my 87 TPI stuff fit on these heads?

Does anybody know of a decently powered crate engine with the pre 86 style heads?

What should I do with my old engine that has no street time on it and about 2 hrs garage ideling time on it? It has 4 bolt roller block with retro fit roller lifters forged pistons, world products sportsman II heads, roller rockers 10.5:1 compression etc etc. . .

thanks

Jeff

You'll need a (rather expensive) Vortec-style lower intake manifold to work with Vortec heads. And your EGR system still won't work becuase Vortec heads don't have exhaust crossover passages- you'll either need to plumb it in to the itnake from an external exhaust manifold source or disable the ERG system in the chip programming.
