Overheating..
Overheating..
Hi.
I started up the car today for the first time after the winter.
( a 1991 corvette with a converted lt1 intake ).
I let the car idle for about 10 min.
Then the car started to boil due to air in the coolant system.
I could se water and steam come out from the t-stat housing, and rear of the intake from the gasget, where the coolant hoses goes for the converted lt1 intake.
And I could hear it boil in the radiator.
My first thought where that I now need to replace the intake gasget.
BUT after I mange to get all the air out, and then re-torqued the intake bolts ( just to be sure ), I cant se any leaks, and the coolant level does not decrease.
Im I just lucky, or should I repalce the gasget anyways?
Thanks

Re: Overheating..
Let it run for a few days and find out. Keep an eye on the level.
I would imagine it will start to leak, but luck is luck, here's hoping you've got some.
