Where is the Vin location on an LT1

Transmission: 700R4
Where is the Vin location on an LT1
I have a 1983 trans am that i'm planning on putting an lt1 in. I cant' seem to find the vin on the engine block. Is there anyone out there that might have a clue where it would be.
