TRYING TO CHANGE FUEL PUMP!! CANT REMOVE GAS TANK!!! TOOK OFF BASICALLY EVERYTHING. SHOCKS ARE LOOSE, REMOVED SPRINGS, TANK STAPS.... IT JUST SEEMS LIKE THE GAS TANK NECK IS TOO LONG. I JUST CANT ANGLE IT TO COME OUT WITHOUT THE NECK HITTING THE BODY!! WHAT NEXT??????????

 

You got to tweak it just a little. When the tank is dropped down as far as it will go and is turned to where it is hitting the inner fender lip and pan hard bar mount start pulling it downwards in very short bursts. You will feel the neck bending ever so sligthly. Keep jockeying it, it will come out.
When you go to re-install it you will need to pull up on the filler neck to put it back to its original position. If you dont get it exact it will not be noticable when you put the bezzle back in the fuel door area.

earm.. cut it and get a new tank sorry. ill think about it during the day and reply if i think of a more logical way of doing it.
