A night at the racetrack
hey guys, was visiting my parents to do some work on the 85, heard some engines off in the distance at ol dragway 42 and i figured i had gotten to the point i needed to figure out what the t/a runs..
So, here's the car:
1985 t/a, first year LB9, 700-r4, 9 bolt 3.23
all power options, gta wheels with potenza 225/50/16 re050's, full audio system and interior, i estimate about 3420 on weight.
My best time of the night was a 15.47, with average being about 15.5, my trap speed was consistantly 90-91 mph.
according to a horsepower calculator, that puts me at 190 hp fw hp, eh, i can lose 25 hp in 23 yrs of service.
now the engine leaks oil through the front main, barely maintains voltage because of a slipping belt, and has about 150,000 mi. on it, and my first pass with it the night i got it last year, it ran abominal coming in anywhere from 15.9-16.4, so since all i've realy done is a full tune up and added tires, i'm satisfied. well, untill i think about the low 14's i ran in the GTA then i just want my l98 back...

I would guess that you are making a little bit more than the 190fwh. I think your car would have a test weight of over 3500 pound with all that equipment and you in it.

Re: A night at the racetrack
well, good to hear. i estimated lower because it uses a camaro ducktail spoiler instead of the heavy t/a spoiler, and it also has about 30 lbs up out of the engine compartment in a/c and smog equipment. the spoiler alone should drop me 40 lbs, that rubber one is retarded heavy
