Nuts for Fuel Tank Straps
In an amazing feat of remarkable idiocy, I have cross-threaded one of the bolts for my fuel tank straps and ruined the nut.
Unfortunately, the nut is not just a simple nut; it's built into a clip that holds it in the body/frame.
Does anyone know if my local auto parts store might carry these nuts? (I would ask them myself, but they're already closed today.) Would I have better or worse luck at a GM dealership? Would you happen to know the part number?
Thanks in advance.

Are you suggesting just using a normal nut? I wish it were that easy. There's no way to get a wrench on a normal nut in that location.

You are way too quick to judge others. Of course there is always a way -- some ways are just more difficult than others. In this case, it turns out I can just pick up GM PN 22531616 from my local dealership. A simple solution to a simple problem. No hacking or fabrication necessary. No frustration or bloody knuckles from trying to do it a more difficult way.
