Fuel Pump Install

Can anybody help me out here, changed fuel pump in my 1986 trans am, fuel pump is working, but I believe I blew the fuse when the original fuel pump died on me. Does anybody know where I can find that fuse, or the relay or any ideas on how to make the fuel pump work?

Re: Fuel Pump Install

the fuel pump fuse is located in the front of the engine compartment. It's a little black plug bolted to the fender, I think it's on the pass side. (my bird has a mech. pump.) The relay is on the firewall next to the ac relay - basically a little black box on the driver's side. The relay is easy to check, it will make a relatively loud "click" when you turn the key.

Check the fuse first. If it's good, listen for the relay. If you don't hear a click, it's an easy $5 fix.

P.S. - a Haynes manual is really an indespensible tool. It's how I taught myself most of what I know...check ebay for good deals.

Good Luck!
