Need Timing Tab for 305
I have a 1990 L03 engine in my Formula. Some jack *** put on a Mr. Gasket chrome timing cover without putting a timing tab on it.
So I saw a tab in the parts store that bolts on, it's for a 7 inch balancer. But it's kinda short and looks like if I put it on it will sit at 2 o'clock. I have seen an original cover and it shows the tab at 12 o'clock. So, where do I get one that will sit in the right position? I have looked everywhere I know and can only find ones like the one I have.
Thanks

AFAIK there aren't any bolt-on tabs for the 12:00 position... use a tab for the 2:30 position and use a piston stop to remark your balancer.

Re: Need Timing Tab for 305
I know this is old but I forgot I posted this thread a while back. Anyway there is a tab I found for sbc engines that sits at 12:00. I put it on but it just doesn't seem to feel right at all once I timed it. So I'm back to trying to figure out if the L03 is supposed to have a tab at 12 or 2. I have both tabs already.

I recall seeing someone post about an aftermarket tab for 12 o'clock. Try a search.
