Power Steering Line
Hi, I have an 89 Formula. Does anyone know what that weird electrical connection is on the high pressure power steering line?

It's the A/C cutout switch, IIRC.

Does it boost the power steering when the A/C is on? I need to replace that line and was thinking of making up a nice braided one. Do I need to use that switch?

No, it cuts power to the A/C compressor so the engine doesn't stall under high P/S load.

Ahhhh, I see. Thank you much. So it's really not totally necessary unless you plan on doing figure eights in a parking lot with the A/C on.
