ITs BROKen! Damnit! fuel tank question :)

ok so removed the fuel tank to replace the pump and drain 5 year old gas and found little plastic pieces of baffle in the tank. Looked down in there and the inner side of the plastic baffle around the pickup is all broken out. dont ask me how the hell that happened! anyway, should i go with a new tank? if so is that what "w/ pan" means on the aftermarket tanks? Or is it cool if its only partly broken clean out the peices and go back in with it?

side note: the car is supercharged and uses an inline fuel pump after the tank supplied in my procharger kit. should i go with an oem pump or go high flow? thanks!

Without seeing it, I'd guess you can leave it and just not let it get too low. It's to keep the pump from sucking air. The pieces won't get past the screen and filter.

well i went back after posting and looked at the baffle and it looks like it is there to keep fuel centered during cornering. This is a drag car only with very little street driving so im not sure how big a deal it would be to delete this baffle and reuse this tank. i am worried about the peices or the broken box blocking the strainer so leaving as is not an option to me. either clear out the box and use tank only or get a new tank. here is a picture.
