What am I missing??

Alright guys im back. Ill be back to the States for a while when it turns warm perhaps and I want some upgrades to the beast to get her hopefully into the low low 12s and possible high 11's without changing my cam from xr276 to xr288.

Here is what I am thinking and I need your opinions guys....

My best so far has been a 12.4x think at 106ish? My 60 foot times finally got to mid to low 1.7's. My last dyno tune said my peak power was at 52-5300 rpms...i am not sure if that is right or not but its the only thing i have to go off of.

Here is what I am thinking about doing.....

Right now I have the Accel 58mm TB and it helped out and gave me better throttle response and around 10rwhp and 10rwtq and it was 1000cfm. AS&M has the monoblade 1300 cfm TB.....I can get that and I am gonna take a guess around 15-20 rwhp. Also, my 3" catback will be replaced by a 3.5 or 4" mufflex pipe and Hooker Aerochamber muffler and finally a nice set of motive 373's with a Girdle on the backside.

Sad I have to do all this just to get my goal of low 12's when there are 355's out there with a slightly better cam but less cubes taht can do it!

I gotta say I feel the monoblade won't help when you're not using even 900 cfm, even if you have a 406 turning 6500. I feel your cam and heads are pretty well matched, and I have to wonder about your intake manifold. Even with a power adder I feel the 4" exhaust is just too big.

Re: What am I missing??

If i am not even using 900cfm as you state, then why did I gain 11rwhp and 9 ftlbs of torque when i simply just replaced the BBK 58mm TB with the Accel 1000cfm TB?

Something's screwy. No way that cam should make max power at that low RPM.

Re: What am I missing??

thats what i was thinking btu another memeber on here that had a similar cam 225/230 @.05 HR made peak power on same sized motor and ironically enuf only ran .1 faster than i did and he had 373s its a pretty mild cam
