Routing Spark Plug Wires
Tomorrow I am going to *attempt* to put on my new ignition wires.
When I was poking around under the hood a week ago, I realized how much my MSD wires were in **** poor condition. The insulation is all cracked from being dried out, one of the wires even has a piece of electrical tape wrapped around it from apparent damage. Not to mention it looks like they were dragged through a pile of mud.
So I have this set of Accel 8mm Hi-Temp Spiral Core wire that I got all cleaned up and looking like new ready to put on. Just a few questions.
How difficult would it be to remove/install plug wires on a 305 with edelbrock headers and the A/C removed? I'd prefer to be able to get to everything from up top. Not the plugs, they're brand new. JUST the wires.
What would be the optimum path to route the wires? I do know about not letting them come into contact with the headers but if possible, I'd like to aim for that old muscle look with the wires running from the distributor across the top and down the side of the engine.
On one of the wires, when I was cleaning it I found a very small cut in the insulation. It looks like It's 1/3 inch long and ONLY cut on the insulation itself. Not the next down or the core of the wire. Is this going to pose a problem? Would a quick ghetto fix of filling in the small cut with hotglue or something-or-another solve this issue? Other than this small cut the wires are in great shape and I'd rather avoid another electrical tape fix...
Thanks.

Re: Routing Spark Plug Wires
The best look in routing wires is to get Universal wires that you have to cut and assemble. This is hands-down the best way.
Get whatever wire looms that will give you the wire routing you want and go from there.
You can fill the crack if you feel like it. Silicone will hold up to the temps better.
Ease of install depends on your header primary locations and boot length. I have longtubes/90deg boots and can do everything from above the engine.
