I have been reinstalling the A.I.R. hardware

I seem to have been forced into reinstalling this stuff.
During installation, which is not quite finished as yet, I realized why I was so very happy to remove it in the 1st place. The air pump bracket touches the lower radiator hose. Also makes it more difficult to replace the hose once the pump is in place.

So the simple Q is how do I get the hose to reside slightly more toward the driver's side?
Are the Goodyear hoses [$20], better shaped than the Kelley Springfeild, or at least a better quality? Either need to be ordered if purchased at Autozone.
Before the weather worsens, I would like to replace the radiator hoses and button up this little project.

Thank You,

Seth

Can you trim the end of the hose?

Of course, I can trim this or a new hose, but won't that action pull it toward the passenger side, tighter against the bracket?
After all, this hose goes from the nipple on the bottom right of the radiator, to the bottom outlet of the water pump.

Re: I have been reinstalling the A.I.R. hardware

I just purchased and installed belts and hoses. Went to a non-Autozone store. All parts are marked 'Gates' and made in the good olde USA.
Prices were less than half that of the chain. Why do I mention this in here?

Because the Gates lower hose clears the air pump bracket by about 1/2 inch.
The Autozone hose rubs, just like the previous one.

I now firmly believe that unless I need a part at 9 P.M. on a Saturday, Autozone is out of the picture.

You can find American Quality, if you look, and needn't pay more for it.
