I dont get it !!!!! need help
I swear, I love this car but man does she give me problems. I know she had some bad owners in her past and FINALLY she has one that wants to take care of her but she does not want to return the favor. Well I have a 91Z convertible and after figuring out why they cut this wire and splice that wire and so on. I thought I had figured everything out but now when I turn the car on "when the motor is cold" it turns over fine .... I can drive normal etc. If I park it / turn it off I can turn it back on right away but if I wait around 5 mins or more .. thats it, no start after that. I would have to Wait till who knows when to turn it back on. I've already figured that out, so if I go to the gas station I take someone with me and i do not turn the car off until I come back home. its sux and I want to fix it. What could it be ??

What are the symptoms exactly? I had an issue with starting and I had to reconnect an alluminum air tube running from my headers to my intake to get it starting right. Once I did it worked amazing. But for us to help more we will need more information on what exactly isn't happening. Will it crank? Will it just not turn over, etc... You see? Thanks for more information bud.

total symptoms
sorry, yes it cranks, but even with a battery fully charged I still get a hesitation from the starter .. like click click click whiles its turning over. sometimes after several attemps of trying to turn it on sometimes I get NOTHING when I turn the key ... DEAD , ZIP , NADA .. no crank no nothing.
when I hook up the battery charger it turns over just fine .. no click click. someone told me I need better ground on the battery or motor. Im up for any suggestions you guys have. Where was that wire you were talking about that you hooked back up ???

You need to check all connections from both sides of the battery. I had a similar problem on my 91, and found corroded connections at the solenoid on the starter.
1. Check negative terminal to ground on motor.
2. Make sure engine ground to body(firewall) is intact and not corroded.
3. Check positive teminal connections Battery to starter solenoid.
4. Check all connections at solenoid and make sure they are solid.
This would be a good starting point. If all this checks out, you probably have a bad starter? Or possibly battery/charging problem. Good luck....
