I’ve a 1991 Chevy Camaro with a 350ci engine... It needs a rering, I'm trying to buy all the parts myself... but I just can't figure out what piston rings to buy for my engine... reading I found there were 3 different types of pistons installed on these engines those days and depending of the piston I can figure out if it uses standard or metric sized rings ... need to figure out what pistons I have so I can buy the correct rings...
The only castings I found on these pistons are:
MAHLE
Ind. BRASL
D8041 (or 08041)
101713

Measure the width and depth of the ring grooves.

Yep. And then buy total seal rings in those sizes. Grind the end gaps to fit.

Re: HELP Choosing the right piston rings
Total seal rings are overkill even, but they work.

I wouldn't say overkill. For the slight price difference.......
Not a good thing for force fed but work great for NA.

Re: HELP Choosing the right piston rings
$30 a hole for gapless rings in an engine that doesn't need them instead of $40 for a set of 8 isn't a slight price difference to me, though.
