TPI Oil cooler snap ring
Does anyone know what the snap ring on top of the oil feed tube that goes through the oil cooler actually does? As far as I can tell it does not have a groove to fit and just keeps the tube from falling in the event you unscrew the tube with the oil filter.

I wondered the same thing when I had it apart. The snap ring has no function, it was likely just used to make assembly easier when new.

I agree; I believe it is supposed to hold that tube with threads inside the oil cooler when putting the cooler onto the block/oil filter adapter.
