What sensor?

So i'm in the process of taking out my LB9 from my '88 IROC. I noticed a sensor right next to the oil filter. What the hell is that? I thought maybe the knock sensor, but thats usually on the passenger side tho. So what is this one?

Re: What sensor?

Ok so when the oil pressure is too low, that signal goes the ECM and shuts off the engine? Its not the oil pressure sending unit that goes to the gauge right?

Re: What sensor?

No, when the oil pressure it high the switch will power the fuel pump in case the fuel pump relay fails. If it has 3 wires, then it's also the sending unit for the gauge.
