why do I have to keep my foot on the gas to keep it running?

why do I have to keep my foot on the gas to keep it running?

just bought it and when I first start it up I have to keep my foot on the gas to keep it running.if I dont then it just idles down slow then stalls.only when the motors cold.after that it starts fine.anyone know what the cause maybe?

maybe an ignition control module....but that would be normally when its warm.... What year? 88 and earlier i think had a cold start valve (9th injector in the manifold) and later years had programming in the prom to richen the mixture. maybe the csv isnt dumping the gas it should be.
