Winshield Washer Fluid

Have had this problem since i bought my car back in Oct. But never took the time to think it over till now (bad weather, slush/snow/dirt on window more prevalent).

Anyways, when i flip the **** to spray the windshield, nothing happens. I hear the motor 'pumping' fluid, my windshield wipers engage, but no fluid comes out. The resivior is full.

Anyone got any suggestions?

Make sure your hoses aren't kinked or blocked.

What Viprkir says--or the line may simply be dry, and as a consequence no fluid is reaching the pump. Disconnect the line and suck on it until you get fluid (no comments please). Reattach and turn the pump on until it's primed. May take a while and running the pump dry probably isn't a good thing. Give it some cool time between attempts.

If it has been full, then this doesen't apply but, I have seen lots of hoses come off at t's or at the wipers and what not. Still sprays just sprays under the hood.

Other then that, might be a bad pump too.

Re: Winshield Washer Fluid

I am seeing the same problem and plan on getting to it this weekend. What I do know is:

1. The pump works. I pull the hose off and it shoots fluid against the radiator

2. It isn't leaking cuz the hose pressurizes when the pump is on

3. I lose the hose under the brake booster

4. The hose coming up to the wipers is dry.

I gotta figure out where stuff goes when it disappears under the brake booster. and where I'm blocked/pinched.
