Help with adjusting valve lash

I probably should know this by now, but which valves are the intake and exhaust on an '87 350? I was so sure the exhaust came first, so I adjusted the lash on the drivers side, but then on the passenger side I got lost. Are they the same, or is it the opposite? Also, what method do you use to adjust valve lash? One book says to watch the lifters, and when one begins to come up, tighten the other and repeat throughout the firing order. Another says to put it at TDC, adjust certain valves, then rotate the crank 360* and adjust the rest.

Ex-In-In-Ex-Ex-In-In-Ex

Just look at the exhaust manifold and you should be able to tell.
