EGR-valve
EGR-valve
Hi everyone!
How hard should it be to pull the egr-valve by hand? I think I have a problem with my egr-valve not opening (code 32) I tried with my hand to push it up and I needed pretty much force to do so..
Also, I was told it could be the temp switch on the egr, but i don't have one on mine? I have the 305 TBI engine L03
(sorry for my bad english
)

Re: EGR-valve
There's a spring and a rubber diaphragm resisting motion. You should be able to use a couple fingers and move it fairly easily. Its what a lot of smog techs used to do here to test if the EGR was blocked or not. If its really hard to move, might be clogged with exhaust (carbon) buildup and you can try removing it and cleaning it.
Re: EGR-valve
Ok thanks!
I bought a vacuum-meter today just to check, and guess what?! I have vacuumpressure on the motor-side of the solenoid but never on the egr-side.. So the solenoid might be broken..
