A guy is selling a 1987 Iroc convertible. The claim is that the engine is a 305 with a carburator on it. Was that possible for this car?
Thanks

Re: Carb or not
Odds are it is a TBI or may have been replaced with a quadrajet carb. Mostly they were fitted with TBI and may look like a carb.

Re: Carb or not
In '87 the LG4 was still carbureted.

TBI wasn't available until 1988 (ignoring the crossfire of '82 & '83).

The carb'd LG4 was the base V8 in 1987.

Re: Carb or not
And so the carbed 305 could have been put in the Iroc convertible?

The 8th digit of the VIN should be an H. H as in Help me go faster.
