Nope.
You will need a new intake manifold.
I believe there exists a stealth ram or something that'll fit vortec heads. I think they charge an arm and a leg though...

Re: thinking about getting iron vortec heads

yea i heard that for iron heads these not only met what aluminum heads got but sometimes exceeded them in performance and are pretty cheap. i looked at that weiand/holley stealth ram intake and it costs about 800 or so.

Re: thinking about getting iron vortec heads

Vortecs are popular because millions of trucks had them factory and could be salvaged from JYs for very cheap

Compared to other factory heads, they might as well be race-prepped

Compared to most aftermarkets they fall short

Vortec HSR should be significantly cheaper

Use this and you can keep TPI

This is relatively new and looks pretty sweet. Cheaper than HSR, includes rails, uses LSx TB. Id take that over HSR

Re: thinking about getting iron vortec heads

ok never mind about that. in the end it actually seems cheaper just to buy the aluminum heads and keep everything else stock becuase with the hsr you need to do a little customizing with your hood
