Vacuum leak? engine idles up to 3k rpms
i posted this in the TBI forums, but it seems this is more of the tech part of the website.
anyways... heres my story,
okay... so i ripped off my throttle body on my 88 firebird recently cause i was going to buy a spacer for it, but i changed my mind, so when i reinstalled the throttle body.. im not sure if i hooked something up wrong, or if im forgetting to hook something up, but whenever i go start it up, it will rev at 3000 rpms and just chill there. im thinking this is a vacuum issue, but im not sure what to do. any help?
i never got to actually taking the whole throttle body off, i just disconnected quite a few things and unbolted it, then realized i was wasting my time, so i put everything back together the next day. but no, i never actually removed the throttle body
i haven't tried disconnecting the throttle cables and starting it yet, but i will tommorrow morning. but i went and took two pictures, im not really sure where these two things connect.

I've been looking for places to connect this, theres only one place that looked like it would fit and that was in this hole cut into the side of the air filter pan, but im not sure. i also noticed when i started up my engine, this little hose leaked and hissed air at me.. so im guessing this is my problem.

and then for this hose, i can't seem to find a place to connect it either..im not sure if it even connects to anything, but i wanna make sure..
any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

u can spot a vacuum leak pretty easy with a can of carb cleaner, just spray it around the suspected area, and if the rpms rise, youve found the area

well i think i've found it, that black hose in the first picture.. but the thing is, im not really sure where it goes. it doesn't seem like it connects anywhere, unless i've just lost a part or something when i disassembled it, but i think if i find out where that should be connected my problem will be solved.
