Can anyone help out with a timing question?

Morning guys. I recently replaced my heads, headers, exhaust, removed my smog equipment and AC. After putting everything back together I'm stuck on two things. We are talking about a 1987 Iroc with the 5.7 liter TPI engine.

1. Timing - I'm not sure what it should be set at. Should I advance it or retard it, considering that I have removed the smog and AC equipment. Also how many degrees do I advance or retard? Any info or past experiences would be greatly appreciated as I am a novice at this type of thing at best!

2. Power Steering Pump - For the life of me, I can't figure out how to mount the Power Steering Pump with out the AC. Do I need to use the old AC brackets to mount the Pump or do I need to get the AC Delete Pulley to help? Any pictures and advice you guys may have would also be greatly appreciated.

I'm curious to hear about the timing as I have the same exact question.

As far as the power steering pump goes...the only way i've heard of it working is by using an ac delete pulley. Pretty sure theres no way around that, but if you do a quick search for it you'll find threads with the exact part # ect.

Stock is 6. Most people advance it to 8-10. I found my car ran the best with it advanced to 8.
