Need help testing MAF sensor.
Today I received a MAF sensor tester that I bought new on Ebay.
It is a Kastar tester and should be good for my 88 Bosch MAF sensor.
The tester comes with a 5 pin plug that fits right to my sensor.
Then I have a 12V source that goes to 5 wires.
One wire to the 12volt and one wire to the negative (-) and one wire to the brn/white cable that goes out of the maf sensor. The brown/white cable is the signal pulse i think...
This is what the diagram shows anyway...And then there are two more cables that should go to a tachometer, wich i don't have yet...
But anyway..Shouldn't the light on the MAF tester be pulsing?..And not a steady light like mine has?
The light is steady glowing all the time..And If I understand this test method correctly, the light should be pulsing when there is no air flow going through the sensor. And if I blow through the maf sensor the light should be steady because of MANY pulses...
Am I wrong?...Or do I need a tachometer to measure this also???
Any help would be appreciated here..Thanks..
