Hello, I have a 1991 Camaro 305. It is all stock now but I am doing a rebuild. I bought a 1976 L82 that I will be swapping in. I am 99.99% sure I will need a new fuel pump. Anybody done this before and have a good part number for one. Or one they can suggest? Thanks guys.

 

Your '91 has an electric fuel pump. The L82 used a mechanical pump. If you are planning to use the carburetor from the L82, you can use the electric pump with a regulator.

As a side note, you're going to have to do a lot of work to the L82 to get it to equal the '91 305. The heads are genuine cast crap. You might even consider using your 305 heads on that engine just to get decent compression. L82 was usually stuck with 76CC heads, a low profile intake, and a poorly matched cam.

 

The heads worked in the Corvette so why would it not work in the Camaro? If I swapped the heads from the 305 would I also need to swap the cam? Thanks man.
