Re: zz4 oil pressure/weight/brand?

mine at idle is 16/17psi in drive..and around 40/45 at cruize at 2,000rpms..is that bad? it used to be 20psi or alittle more at idle in drive and between 55/60 at cruize at 2,000rpms..all this started just like that right after i got it out for the summer.

im running valvaline 10w/40 with a AC delco pf1218 filter.

Re: zz4 oil pressure/weight/brand?

it doesn't sound like a problem, i idle at 800rpm because i'm fuel injected and a manual, so with your holly if your idling about 500-650 that could account for the lower oil pressure. when i let the clutch out and my rpm drops to 500 or so, my oil pressure drops as well. keep in mind, we are both (i assume you are) using stock gauges, which are NOT known to be anything close to accurate

yeah im at ilde at about 700 or so around there with the mutherthumpr cam it has a mean idle..i am running the pro comp machanical oil pressure gauge and there supposed to be real accurate. so i feel like what its reading is what it is. you think if i switched to a diff brand of oil it would make a difference

no, a different brand will have little to no effect, a different weight might though
