Quick L03 Question
Quick L03 Question
hey guys,
i got a L03 v8 TBI setup, all stock (cept ported tbi and open element filter)
I want to verify a few readings from the knowledge of this community.
1st. I am going to check my timing tonight, I have searched and read that 0* is perfect for the L03 V8 TBI, please confirm this (i heard the 8 degrees was bad, and I am in VEGAS 110 daily temps. I am leaning towards 0*)
2nd. my air to fuel ratio, what is a excellent AFR reading for the L03 V8 TBI? I want it to run well, not super lean or super rich.
Thanks, Ill check back later on tonight. (btw i did search for this, but i guess I didn't type in what the search wanted for me to get the info)

Re: Quick L03 Question
For the 88 year, stock was 6 deg BTDC, if my memory serves me correctly. You can go higher, but keep it below 10 deg. of base advance. Higher than that will strain the starter and cause detonation when cranking.
The air/fuel ratio isn't really adjustable from a basic tuning standpoint. If you wanted to, you could purchase equipment to allow you to tune by adjusting the calibration in the ECM. The only other possible thing you can do is alter the fuel pressure. But, thats like driving a six-penny nail with a sledge hammer. Its far from precise as your globally altering the fueling.
