a few questions
Ok I am new to the roller engines. I'm an old school guy that has run flat tappets for years. Well I came across a good deal on a L98 engine complete so I bought it. I plan on running the stock 083 heads of course with some work done to them (screw in studs, decent port work, milled .010, ect). I am looking at running a .550 or so lift cam. My question is how much material has to be taken off of the guides to run that much lift. Rockers will be either 1.5 or 1.6 ratio depending. I will be running a HEI distributor. Will I need a special gear or will the one that I ran on my flat tappet work? Also I will be using a manual trans. What flywheel will I need? Like I said I don't know alot about these engines at all but I am willing to learn what I need to to get it together and running in my car. By the way this will be going into a 1971 Nova SS with a Muncie M21 4 speed with 4.10 gears.
