Wont crank, ran fine before yesterday

So I go out to start my 82 z-28 camaro only to find out the battery was dead which was no suprise I knew I needed to replace it, so I hook it up to one of my other cars to jump start it and on the inside voltmeter it shows the batterys charged so I try to start it and theres no cranking at all. Ok it tried to crank once then nothing at all. It did sit for about a week while i was out of town but before that it started every time. Where should I start on the list of possible causes? Thanks alot

Replace the battery first, your probably not getting enough juice to store in the battery and the jump is not enough to run the starter.

I had this problem this weekend. It was the battery - you don't have enough cold cranking amps to actually get the car started. The only way to fix this is to get a new battery.

Considering it only sat for a week, with a jump start, you should at least see something happening at the starter, be it sluggish cranking, clicking, or the solenoid engaging. Are the cables all tight at the battery?

If the battery's bad then get it replaced, make sure the cables are nice and tight, and get your starter tested if it still is acting up.
