so, my car was running before this...i took my throttle body off disconnected vaccuum lines ect.. put it back together the same way i took it apart, vaccuum lines and all and now it just cranks.after a few cranks i DO smell gas, so thats not an issue, however, i believe its just not sparking.

does this make any sense? i'm really puzzled

DId you check the ignition module?
