trying to figure out why

ok i changed out my fuel pump today and when i took the bad one out it had a strainer on it that didn't look anything like the new one i put in the A/C delco one looks kinda like a plastic screen with another screen inside, the one that was on the bad pump looked like and felt like some kinda of weird fabric and was crap compared to the Delco strainer, it didn't even seem like it would keep from collapsing on it self. so my question would be could a crappy strainer like i just explained cause a pump to die early by making it work harder?

Re: trying to figure out why

ya dude, i got those all over the garage since my fuel pump delima, ac delco is the best i figured out after replacing the pump 3 times with china built autozone crappy crap, makes me want to go to china and **** on the assembly line. BTW the strainer recently been redesigned to prevent problems. just like the lower shifter cable bracket on the transmission and the shifter cable plastic clips.
