Vortec 350 build goes 7.456 in 1/8 mile
I'm not too familiar with 1/8 mile times, but last night my car went 7.456 at 74.62 mph in the 1/8 mile. This was n/a. I'm not sure what to think.
Reaction 1.012
60ft 2.195
mph 74.62
ET 7.456
The mph doesn't seem consistent with the time? The guy in the left lane ran a 5.871 at 87.72 mph.
I shifted 1-2 at 6500 rpm and crossed the finish at the top of 2nd
1985 iroc
'98 350 vortec block standard bore
holley 770 street avenger
forged 9.73:1 pistons
229/245 .510 .540 hydraulic roller cam
stock vortecs machined for lift
long tubes 3 inch y-pipe hooker aero chamber
700r4 shiftkit
vigilante 3600 converter
3.42 gears
245/45/17 street tires
About what could i expect in the 1/4 mile and with DRs and a good 60ft what would i be running?

you sure you're looking at the right time? i'm not saying i'm doubting you but 7.4 @ 75mph in the 1/8th with a 2.19 60ft seems hardly feasible.
7.4's usually run between of 90-100mph at the 1/8th mile depending on 60ft.
5.8's are about 110-120mph.

those times don't add up at all, slow 60' and low mph but a low ET. Something is definitely wrong.

Re: Vortec 350 build goes 7.456 in 1/8 mile
seems like 425FT to hit 75 MPH with the 700r4 that converter 1-2shift at 6500 and finishing at 6250RPMS right around 420FT
1/8mile time would have been ~8.582 @88.0MPH
1/4 13.06@110MPH

I'm gonna swap the vortecs out for a set of AFR 195s and get some 3.73s and DRs and hopefully hit low 12s in the 1/4
