Smog pump questions
I got around to putting the shorty headers on my car and now the smog pump must go. I have taken off all the hoses except that diverter box and the pump itself. I'm too cheap to buy a bypass pulley so I'll run the shorter belt. Anyways, can I run the car without the smog connected to the parts store and then to my house, a total of maybe 8 or 9 miles without burning something up? The pump only has about 10K miles on it but I wanted to know if I would mess something up or burn something because of it not being hooked up but still on the car. Thanks any help you can give.

Re: Smog pump questions
All it does is blow air - in one hole and out the other - won't hurt anything for it to be in place but not connected.

Cool, thanks for the info. You wouldn't happen to know what gatorback belt to run without the pump installed, do you? I have everything else connected on my 89 formy.
