Replacing Door Locks
Hi there. So here's the deal, my driver side door lock has been a little tricky ever since i've had it. The cover on the key slot that slides back and forth was messed up some how and its been a little difficult to turn. So last week I gave my girlfriend the keys to go get something out of my car and she came back with a bent key. Needless to say she completely jacked up the lock on the door and I cant even unlock it from the driver's side. I have to go to the passenger's side and press the unlock button and then walk back around. Anyway (Just venting), Does anyone know how hard it is to replace those door locks and is there a thread on it? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Replacing Door Locks
Its really not bad. To my knoledge there is no wrote up on it but its easy as this. Just pull the door panel off (interior), remove the plastic weather shield, roll up the window. Once this is done youll see there are only 2 things holding the lock in place the rod itself that the lock cylinder turns to unlock the door and a clip that slides in holding the lock cylinder in place. When you get a new lock cylinder youll see the clip im talking about as it comes with it. Really not too bad.

There are a few things in the following post that you might address while you're in the door. Check post #10 for a blow-up of the lock area:
